Our Founders
Radhe Plastic is founded by two brothers Jay Mayani and Bhavik Mayani, along with investment support from their father KK Mayani. Jay Mayani, the Founder moved to Kenya in 2015 to build a business for a better future. Later in the year 2018, his brother Bhavik Mayani officially joined the business. Despite the challenges, their dedication and commitment pushed them forward and they experienced gradual growth.

Beginning of our journey, we encountered multifaceted challenges that tested our resolve and ingenuity. Insufficient Funds to start and scale, cultural unfamiliarity and finding a team who can help in driving innovations. Despite these hurdles, we leveraged resilience and resourcefulness, implementing agile strategies to overcome obstacles and propel our vision forward.

Taking Action for a Brighter Tomorrow
In the year 2017, China banned the import of solid waste from foreign countries. Consequently, it created a problem of waste management in Kenya. Here begins the Recycling journey of Radhe Plastic. We wanted to address this problem and promote sustainability. It encouraged us to bring an impact to society and hence we pivoted to PET straps and PET Flakes. PET’s primary quality is its ability to be recycled multiple times without compromising its quality, making it an ideal material for recycling.
Our strapping bands are manufactured using 100% recycled PET flakes, enabling us to recover about 60% of our product from the market and recycle it. This process promotes a circular economy where waste is minimised and transformed into valuable resources, reducing the environmental impact of plastic waste.
Environmental Factor
According to PETCO’s reports from 2019, Kenya generated around 20,000 tons of plastic waste, of which only 5% was recycled, leaving a staggering 95% to end up in landfills and oceans. This causes significant harm to human and marine life ecosystems. To prevent further damage, increasing recycling capacity is crucial. Recycling single-use plastic can reduce the consumption of virgin plastic material derived from crude oil. Additionally, collecting rainwater for recycling plastic promotes sustainable practices. Radhe Plastic aims to promote environmental sustainability, ensuring it guides every decision made by both individuals and a company.
